COP26 Accommodation & hosting

We are busy building a hosting network for the people of Glasgow and Scotland to host the myriad of climate activists, practitioners and communities coming for COP26. If you are interested in being a host, or being hosted, please sign up to our newsletter here.

The hotels of a COP host city are block-booked and are then only available through a UNFCCC process for booking.  The prices are often too high for civil society coming to COP so here are some things to help in finding accommodation.

The SEC has really good links by train as you can see on the map so if you are looking for cheaper accommodation during COP, look for accommodation on the pale green line – with direct services to SEC.

For example:

  • Bearsden and Milngavie – 15-20 mins
  • Rutherglen – 14 mins
  • Hamilton – 30 mins
  • Uddingston – 30 mins

Balloch, on the banks of Loch Lomond) and Helensburgh, a picturesque Victorian seaside town, are both 40 minutes away

There are also many places you can reach with a change at Partick (a small local station so no change of platform) or Glasgow Central (eg Paisley – 30 mins)
