Climate Justice Volunteering at COP26

SCCS and the COP26 Coalition are looking for people to volunteer at COP26 between 31st Oct – 14th Nov 2021. To make sure climate justice is front and centre at the COP26 negotiations, with your help, we are organising the People’s Summit, Civil Society Hubs and Mobilisations. 

There are a few different ways you can volunteer with us:

  • Volunteer in person at our events in Glasgow
  • Volunteer remotely at the Virtual People’s Summit
  • Volunteer with our Arts Hub

Volunteer in person

There are a number of roles and shifts available so that anyone interested can get involved:

  • Build and break
  • Welcome volunteer
  • March steward
  • Tech support
  • Welfare
  • COVID + registration volunteer

 

We will provide you with training and support so that you can fulfil your role with confidence. Click here to apply online or find out more in our info pack!

Requirements: We are looking for volunteers who are 18+. You will need to be based in Glasgow for your chosen shifts. You don’t need to have any particular experience or specialist skills for most roles.

Volunteer remotely at the People's Summit

We are looking for people to join the digital crew for the virtual People’s Summit! You can be based anywhere in the world for this role and will be provided with specific training to ensure you are confident fulfilling your role. 

Training dates (all UK times)

  • Thursday 14th October, 18:00-20:00
  • Tuesday 19th October, 13:00-15:00
  • Sunday 24th October, 14:00-16:00

 

Requirements: You will need to be 18+ to volunteer in this role. No specific experience necessary. You can be based anywhere!

Volunteer with our Arts Hub

We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the following arts roles:

  •  Co-curators to assist with the coordination of our exhibition programme. We want to take over shopfronts and exhibition spaces across the city to exhibit art by community arts groups and artists, particularly those who cannot come to COP26.
  • Hosts for the Arts Hub at the Dream Machine. SCCS are setting up an Arts Hub with studio, workshop, rehearsal and exhibition space. We need volunteers to host the space, welcoming the activists and artists and assisting them to use the space.

 

Requirements: You need to be 18+ for this role. For most tasks you will need to be based in Glasgow. An interest in arts and climate would be ideal! Email Lucy for more information on these roles.
