International launch of An Agenda for the Development of the Amazon. The agenda indicates possible development paths for the region and provides input for decision makers at COP-26. The paths presented are based on a set of ambitions: increasing the quality of life of the local population, valuing the cultural dimension, establishing the region as a major carbon sink, strengthening incentives for economic activities that value the standing forest and rescuing and strengthening democratic principles. The debate will be based on a framework, which references the region from four Amazons, with specific, structuring and transversal action fronts.
