evidence demonstrating the primary role of indigenous peoples and local communities in protecting forests and biodiversity, an analysis of climate funds invested over the past 10 years shows that they have not reached the communities where they are located. In fact, they carry out nature protection activities. Based on an analysis of the causes of this phenomenon, the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities defined a vision and a series of principles and pre-conditions that all climate mechanisms must consider to support indigenous peoples and local communities. To strengthen this vision, however, it is necessary to start with the existing funds, which is why collaboration between different mechanisms is needed. This panel will explore that collaboration.
