Come along to this taster session to see if you would like to join the climate craftivism movement in South Yorkshire!

About this event

COSY – Craftivists of South Yorkshire is a newly formed group supported by Rotherham Climate Action looking to be creative and crafty around issues regarding climate change. This group aims to:

  • raise awareness about climate issues
  • share our thoughts and educate one another
  • get to know other members of our community
  • to have some fun in a relaxing environment

This one hour session will focus on making an origami heart to send to delegates attending the G7 Summit in June with a simple message. It will also introduce you to a long term project ‘Stitches for Survival‘! It will also answer questions you may have as well as general discussions about climate craftivism.

Sign up for a place now!

(Zoom details will be sent ahead of the session)

What you need for your origami heart

It’s a very beginner-friendly activity so don’t feel put off if you’ve never done anything crafty before!

  • You will need one or more squares of paper, no smaller than 15x15cm. You could use origami paper, or you could look in your recycling bin or find pages from a magazine or newspaper!
  • Strips of plain paper for your message
  • Pen
  • Glue
  • Message – what would you like to say to the delegates at the G7 summit?
