ACAN’s Circular Series: How to apply Circular Economy principles at each RIBA stage
Interested in improving the circularity of your construction projects but don’t know where to start? Join us for a series of expert-led lunchtime talks to address the challenges (and opportunities) of applying Circular Economy principles in construction projects at every RIBA stage.
The series kicks off at 1pm on Thursday 14th January with RIBA Stage 0, Strategic Definition:
Duncan Baker Brown, Director of BBM Sustainable Design Ltd, and author of The Re-use Atlas,
Richard Boyd, Senior Engineer at ARUP
We’ll be discussing how architects and design teams can work with clients to integrate circular principles in strategic briefs, how to make the case for circularity when establishing project viability, and much more.
More info about the series:
The ACAN Circular Economy group have been focusing on how circular economy principles can be applied within the context of the UK construction industry. This 9-part event series addresses the key challenges and opportunities of realising CE approaches at each of the RIBA stages, from strategic definition in Stage 0 through to the building in use at Stage 7. To close the circle, we’re also going to discuss a proposed ‘Stage 8’ to address building demolition and reuse.
We’ve found experts from across the industry to dig down into the nitty gritty of how to incorporate circularity in UK construction in a meaningful way.
