Event Details

The Word Forest Organisation are proud to present a panel event on Science and Sustainability led by experts in the field. Environmentalists, corporate partners and scientific advisors from The Word Forest Organisation, are attending COP26 and will be hosting Screening and Panel Fringe events in Glasgow over the two weeks. The Word Forest Organisation, is a UK charity that plants trees, builds classrooms and facilitates education in rural Kenya. It also shines a spotlight on the women’s empowerment group, Mothers of the Forest. Our Scientific Advisor Bill McGuire, Professor of Geophysical and Climate Hazards at UCL (University College London) will be sharing his knowledge and insights from his work on climate change, which he also puts into environmental activism and writing. The sustainability team from our Corporate Partners Oaklin will be sharing how businesses, both large and small, should have a sustainable core, and how this transpires for all citizens to live each day more sustainably.

The Word Forest Organisation will also share how Science informs our work of planting and protecting trees in Kenya and why we, as a UK charity, advocate for further sustainable actions for living and working on a global scale, as we continue to fight against climate change. The panel will be taking live questions from the audience and we envisage an interactive Q&A session.

If you wish to send your questions in advance, please email [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you and connecting about all things Science and Sustainable! We are grateful to our corporate partners funding our team to attend at COP26.
