Extreme weather events are increasing in frequency and severity, disrupting the education of 40 million children a year. Globally, at least 200 million adolescent girls live on the frontlines of the climate crisis, as they belong to the poorest households in the poorest areas where they are already affected by conflict and crisis. We will not be able to reach Sustainable Development Goal Four, realising the right to quality education for all by 2030, or our global education targets, without supporting the education sector in the event of a climate related shock. This event brings together young voices with global leaders to discuss how we can make that happen.
