Event Details

In recent years, millions and millions of young people have gathered
in squares all over the world to fight for their rights, including
their right to their future.

All people but mostly young people have been particularly active
recently in taking political, social and economic action to ensure a
fairer and more just world.

Many young people have created movements and organisations with
the aim of creating communities where anyone can express their ideas and
thoughts, but above all can use their voice to ensure that their rights
are respected and worthwhile.

The great activism of young people such as Greta Thunberg has
meant young activists are being involved in decision-making processes.

Enabling the engagement of youth in formal political mechanisms does
increase the fairness of political processes by reducing democratic
deficits, contributes to better and more sustainable policies, and also
has symbolic importance that can further contribute
to restoring trust in public institutions, especially among youth.
