About this Event
Making Rights Real is a new grassroots human rights organisation in Scotland established following successful housing rights work in Leith. The team behind Making Rights Real want to create a national human rights resource for people in communities, with projects supporting people to collectively name and claim their rights and make social and economic change.
Making Rights Real is hosting this online event along with the Scottish Human Rights Commission and Participation and Participation and the Practice of Rights. Our event is for people living in Scotland who may be experiencing human rights concerns.
The event will:
Show examples of how communities have used the power of human rights in practice. This will include the incredible work of Participation and the Practice of Rights in housing, mental health and welfare and their joint work in Scotland with the Scottish Human Rights Commission and residents in Leith around the right to housing.
