The project intends to organize a roundtable documentary movie screening and talks with 50 stakeholders on the livelihood loss and climate change in Benue Valley, Nigeria. The documentary will highlight the grave challenges posed by climate change on livelihood and inadequate infrastructure and knowledge by communities to adapt to the challenges. Some of the issues to draw stakeholders attention will include over-flooding of River Benue-second largest River in Nigeria and impacts on livelihoods, migration in the mountainous areas due to land degradation, Gully erosion site caused by climate change, and destroyed homes and displacing population. The aim is to ignite stakeholder’s action on involvement, preparedness and financing the adaptation and resilience of climate change.
The activity will include
• To produce a 30-minutes documentary film on “Impacts of climate change on Livelihood in Benue Valley” and screen with stakeholders during roundtable talks.
• To mobilize 50 state and non-state actors for a roundtable documentary movie screening and talks on climate change adaptation and resilience on livelihood.
• To stream live on Facebook and CLIMATEFRINGE TV, the roundtable movie screening and talks.
• To share the message of the events on organization social media channels
