Join Eco-Congregation Scotland, an ecumenical environmental movement of over 500 Scottish churches, for the launch of this year’s original Creation Time materials.

Amidst the worsening climate crisis and the coronavirus pandemic, our sisters and brothers around the world are clamouring for hope and restoration. Now is the time for Christians to come together, take action, and show the world what love for creation looks like.

The global Season of Creation stretches from 1 September – the Day of Prayer for Creation, and first day of the Orthodox Church’s year – to 4 October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology. It a period dedicated to prayer for the protection of Creation and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles that reverse our contribution to climate change.

2020 has been an extraordinary year beginning with much anticipation of the COP26 climate talks coming to Glasgow and much focus on the Climate Emergency, followed by the pandemic and the effects of lockdown on society. There is much for us to think about as we come to focus our worship around thoughts of creation. Hear from some of the contributors to our ecumenical worship materials for this year’s Creation Time/Season of Creation and find out how they might be used in your own congregation.
