These expert-led sessions have been programmed to take you through the stages to becoming a creative activist from why it’s needed, what it means and how you can do it, how you can have the power to make positive changes to our world.
The Creative Activism Academy is open to 15 – 25 year olds and will deepen knowledge and understanding of Climate change/SDGs and their links to migration through a range of creative active and participatory workshops enabling them to take positive action locally. This will encourage momentum and sustainability for the Changemaker groups beyond the project. As a result of attending the Academy, young people will be equipped with the necessary Global Citizenship knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to take informed and creative action on global issues related to climate change and migration in the run-up to COP 26.
Alison founded Julie’s Bicycle in 2007 as a non-profit helping the music industry reduce its environmental impacts and develop new thinking in tune with global environmental challenges. Julie’s Bicycle has since extended its remit to performing and visual arts. Trained as a cellist, Alison worked with jazz improviser and teacher John Stevens at Community Music and then, after a few years in the bureaucratic wilderness, she set up Julie’s Bicycle.
