Moving from despair to hope: the importance of addressing climate anxiety
What do recent initiatives to ‘decolonise’ education really mean? What will this mean for climate education and how can we confront and address structural injustices? Learning about injustices – in schools, in communities and through activism – means that we make space to explore the range of emotional responses that might help or hinder our learning. People may get angry, they might grasp for positive emotions, or they might simply close down if they feel as though they can’t to do anything. This event will provide space to participants to critically reflect on and discuss the need for critical emotional literacy in education for climate justice.
