FEL Film Club launches with a screening from Take One Action Film Festivals ‘What the COP?” series.

In the lead up to COP26 we hope to inspire our local community with these stories as well as getting a sense and history of the COP meetings. We’ll have some free growing and cooking resources along with us for anyone inspired by Kisilu’s story and there will be chance for discussion and processing of the films content over a hot drink and snacks provided.

A moving portrait of resilience on the frontlines of climate change.

From devastating droughts to flash floods, Kenyan farmer Kisilu Musya has been documenting the effects of extreme weather on his farm, his family and his community for over five years. Determined to stop climate change in its tracks, he organises local farmer groups to spread awareness of the dangers of deforestation and monoculture – and ends up taking his message all the way to the UN Climate summit. But will anyone listen? Faced with international leaders’ inertia and arrogance, Kisilu strengthens his resolve to protect the planet and the soil which every farmer – and all of us – depend on.

Combining stunning cinematography with hand-held, first-person accounts, this vividly textured documentary echoes the strength of spirit of its remarkable protagonist.
