Growing Glasgow
Growing Glasgow begins with an interactive workshop from the GUEST team, University of Glasgow. Inviting you to share thoughts on your favourite meals and how we can make them more sustainable.
Followed by two film screenings, Feeding the City by Zev Robinson, and the animation From Food Poverty to Food Sovereignty by Trasi Henen. Exploring Glasgow’s food culture, current dilemmas, and efforts by food businesses, workers, academics, and activists to increase quality, accessibility, and sustainability in the city.
Commissioned by the Food Sovereignty Network, University of Glasgow, the films represent a visual response to the debate that has been developed within the network in view of the upcoming COP26. With a Q&A by artists and members of the Food Sovereignty Network afterwards.
The GUEST team close the evening inviting reflection and discussion around thoughts and questions posed from their earlier workshop.
Growing Glasgow has been developed as a partnership event between the Glasgow Science Festival (1st to 30th Sept 2021) & The Dear Green Bothy.
