This meetup is all about COP26: What’s going on? In the negotiations, in the cultural sector and on the streets.

About this event

Join us for the first online meetup for both the Green Tease network and the Green Arts Initiative!

COP26 is the 26th annual ‘Conference of the Parties’ to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. It will be held in Glasgow, at the SEC, in November 2021. It will be the first COP to take place after the landmark Paris Agreement’s measures took effect.

Kat Jones, COP26 Lead at Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, will talk about the focus of this COP summit, and what they hope will (or will not) be included in any ‘Glasgow Agreement’.

We’ll then explore how the outcome might impact on the cultural sector.

We’ll hear from a few cultural organisations and individuals who are planning events and activities at COP26, as part of the official programme or as an independent or critical response.

Finally, we’ll learn about opportunities for engagement with cultural, civil society and activist activities around COP26, and hold a space for attendees to share their own plans and ideas.

This event is part of Climate Fringe week, celebrating and supporting all the ways you can take part in climate activism.
