Join us to find out how locally-led Green Mapping projects are illuminating places around the world where you can take action every day for climate health and community wellbeing.
At the event you will hear from a couple of local Green Map projects:
Glasgow Green Map – this project is a partnership between Glasgow Eco Trust and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland. Hear from Neil Lovelock of Glasgow Eco Trust who will introduce this session and share their process and progress to date in Green Mapping Glasgow, including ways to get involved before, during and after COP26.
Dunoon Green Map – Hannah Clinch of Tacit Tacit Design will share elements of the Dunoon Green Map project which is being used to support place-based regeneration and support social enterprise spin-offs.
Both projects use OGM2, the new Open Green Map platform, as their starting point, and the open source GIS Collective will pop in and share the latest features.
Wendy Brawer, who founded Green Map System in NYC 25 years ago, will present some of the remarkable climate-related mapping projects and invite your participation. The movement needs you and your community – join this team at COP26,
This event is part of the Climate Fringe Week which is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland to celebrate and support all the ways you can engage in climate activism; be that as part of an organisation, with your friends, family or wider community.
