Event Details

Presented by New Glasgow Society during The Climate Fringe Week, GREEN NEW DEAL: GLASGOW is an exhibition by Architectural Association (AA) Ground Lab and the Common Wealth Think Tank in imagining the implantation of Green New Deal policies in Glasgow in Year 2030.

The project envisions a future for Glasgow in three scales:

  • CITY SCALE

New networks of green and blue infrastructure are proposed for flood resilience, while bringing people closer to nature and transitioning to alternative energies.

  • STREET SCALE

‘Away with the Cars’ policies increase the space for pedestrians, public transport, green infrastructure and green community business.

  • TENEMENT SCALE

Retrofitting ensures that social housing has proper insulation and energy saving mechanisms to improve inhabitants’ health, and introduces shared communal facilities for maintenance, food production and community leisure.
