How do plants respond, learn and adapt to a changing climate?

Enter the world of plant genetics and environmental change, guided by scientist Emily May Armstrong. In a three-part seminar, we will explore how growing and saving seed locally can contribute to the evolution of diverse and resilient plants.

Learn how plant life is impacted by – and can help us resist – climate chaos.

Schedule

11 April – Stress in the garden: how the climate impacts how plants grow
25 April – From environment to genes: how plants remember and adapt
9 May – Adversity and diversity: seed saving, evolution and resilience

Each session will include a talk followed by a group discussion and time for questions. The seminar is ideal for anyone curious about vegetal life, evolution and seed saving. No prior scientific knowledge is necessary. You do not need to attend all sessions, but we recommend booking for the full series to get the most out of the seminar.
