Action for climate change, whether as activism or in other ways can present demanding challenges. When we are faced with dilemmas and hard challenges in life, how can we find support or organise supporting others to find clearness of vision? The Quaker approach of holding a meeting for clearness comes from a spiritual tradition that has a long history of action for social change. It is a method of group discernment that has been widely used by support groups with no Quaker connections. Vérène and Alastair will teach how to hold such a gathering in this half day workshop.
Vérène Nicolas specialises in helping individuals and organisations build capacity to create spaces that are hospitable to the soul. Alastair McIntosh is the author of books including Soil and Soul, Spiritual Activism and most recently Riders on the Storm: The Climate Crisis and the Survival of Being. Both are Quakers, members of the GalGael Trust and Fellows of the Centre for Human Ecology in Glasgow.
