Event Details

Every facet of land power dynamics impacts our food system and is also a major challenge in how communities are able to organise for overcoming the multiple ecological crises we face. This event will hope to cover issues like food production, the intersection between housing and farm land, rent and land prices, pollution, deforestation, monocultures and flooding; the history of dispossession during the advent of industrial capitalism in Britain (enclosures, Highland clearances) and how this impacts people today; along with the plethora of land struggles going on globally.

Speakers include:

Roz Corbett from Land Workers Alliance

Joey Simmons from Living Rent

Jessie MacInnis from La Via Campasina

Land in Our Names (TBC)

You can either register here with us through Eventbrite for up to date information, or turn up on the day at Civic House. A portion of the tickets will be held for walk-ups.
