Mapbiomas data will illustrate the intense changes in land use in the tropics and the losses and gains of native vegetation and agricultural area in recent decades in Brazil. Then lessons for the conservation, restoration and sustainable land use will be built from the trajectories of the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest.
