World premiere of a stunning new documentary exploring Scotland’s complex relationship to the global climate crisis through archive footage from the National Library of Scotland, in an evocative portrayal of a country shaped by demands for energy and economic growth.
From the Torness anti-Nuclear protests to corporate videos and news reports, the footage spans the geography of Scotland, taking in the central belt, the rural South, the Highlands and the North sea.
Part found-footage mash-up and part archive collage, Living Proof revisits the most treasured, most contested and most exploited parts of the country to ask if we’re heading into new territory – or caught in a cycle of familiar promises.
The screening will be followed by live audience conversation with guests including Emily Munro.
