The Argyll Beacon is a partnership between Cove Park and Argyll & the Isles Coast & Countryside Trust (ACT). The Beacon is one of seven Scotland-wide Climate Beacons launched in advance of the COP26 Conference, bringing artists, cultural practitioners, and organisations together with climate change specialists, activists, scientists and researchers. The focus of the Argyll Beacon is Scotland’s rainforest, the majority of which is found in Argyll, and our collaboration over the course of a year involves a public programme of events, workshops and commissions of new work by artists, writers and filmmakers in response to Scotland’s rainforest.

Join us in the morning at 10am when ACT’s Woodland Co-ordinator Ian Dow will be co-ordinating the planting of our very own micro-rainforest. To ensure its success we would love as many volunteers as possible to help us realise this ambitious project. Volunteers will be invited to join us for lunch from 1pm.

The Argyll Beacon Climate Cafe will take place from 2-4pm where you will hear talks from Ian Dow and Climate Beacon Artists in Residence Juliana Capes and Rachel McBrinn and Alison Scott. The Cafe is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about tree planting projects and our artists work.
