Event Details
You are invited to join an event with World Parliamentarians who like me will have access to their countries negotiators and Governments. Its an event which is unticketed and open to all. We do encourage registration if possible though. This event is after the COP26 Coalition March on Saturday.
Our last best chance – Global Left Perspectives on COP26
Saturday 6 November, 6pm, followed by a social event, Central Hall, 292-316 Maryhill Rd, G20 7YE
A coalition of Labour movement groups is putting on this event to gain access and to get involved with the debate at COP26 with Socialist and Progressive politicians. We’ve brought together a fantastic line-up from Parliamentarians and activists around the world for a panel event.
This event is supported by Open Labour, SERA, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Young Fabians Environment Network and Labour for a European Future.
The speakers are as follows:
• (Chair) Cllr Eva Murray, Deputy Labour Group Leader Glasgow City Council
• Alessia Rotta, President of the Italian Parliament Environmental Committee and Global Parliamentary Co-Rapporteur on COP26
• Alex Sobel, Chair of UK Parliament Net Zero Group and Global Parliamentary Co-Rapporteur on COP26 and SERA Executive
• Senator Jaques Wagner, Former Governor of Bahia and Former Chief of Staff to President Dilma Rousseff and Minister of Labour under President Lula
• Chara Kafantari, Chair of SYRIZA environmental Parliamentary Group
