We are living through an unprecedented crisis: the damage inflicted upon the Earth’s environment is continuously growing, yet our political systems are still failing to adequately address the causes and consequences of this crisis. While fully aware of the calamities that await us, are we nevertheless powerless to prevent them from occurring? Will our current political and social structures be ultimately unable to address an epochal crisis? Does the crisis go far deeper, requiring a fundamental reassessment of how humanity should relate to the environment?
This online symposium and art exhibition therefore considers the intersecting threads of politics, activism, and creativity in their responses to the current environmental crisis.
The aim is to mobilise further intellectual exchange between researchers working on this issue from different disciplines, while also involving artists and activists from outside academia.
