Never been to a hackathon? Unsure how you could contribute or have other questions before attending? Do you have an idea for a project you’d like to share?

We’re here to help.

Bright Purple and Product Forge have joined forces to deliver a hackathon event specifically focused on the climate emergency, from 5th-7th November.

Products for the Planet will bring together designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, developers, academics, environmental experts and more to develop digital innovations that educate, empower and inspire public action against Climate Change.

Whether you are a first-time hackathon goer or a hack veteran, everyone is welcome!

This pre-event networking drop-in will feature a short presentation to explain more about the event and meet the organisers, followed by an open Q&A and most importantly a chance for you to network and chat with other participants!

As World leaders descend on Glasgow for COP26 – the most pivotal Climate Change summit of our time – we’re inviting you to step up and get involved to demonstrate just how effective public involvement can be in making a real impact against the climate crisis.

Across the weekend, entrepreneurial designers, developers, data analysts, marketers, sector experts and more will develop innovative products, services or tools that educate, empower and inspire public action against some of the planet’s biggest challenges.

Participants will form small cross-functional teams to work on a product prototype with support from subject matter experts and the wider technology community.

Challenges will include:

  1. SESTran will present a challenge based around city transport logistics as part of the SURFLOGH project.

Teams will be tasked to develop solutions that reduce the number of repeated visits to each address, with a particular focus on
residential locations.

  1. Bright Purple and Pawprint will present a challenge around public engagement in reducing carbon

More details to follow!

As Covid-19 precautions are still in place, the event will be hybrid, with teams formed of remote and in-venue participants. We will have all necessary measures in place to ensure a safe event for all.

Develop your career, gain new skills, network with professionals and meet talented people with a shared interest in fighting Climate Change!
