Hosted by the Scottish Food Coalition and the Good Food Nation Ambassadors, this 1.5 hour long virtual workshop is for anyone interested in learning more about the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary Elections, and supporting the campaign for a healthier, fairer and more sustainable future for our food system.
The 2021 elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday 6th May and we have an opportunity to push for change in our food system. The COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the uncertainties of Brexit, have put even greater strain on a food system that has long been plagued by high-levels of food insecurity, diet-related illness, and production practices that harm our natural world.
We have been campaigning for a new law to address the challenges facing the food system – the Good Food Nation Bill. Due to be introduced in Spring 2020, it was delayed as a result of COVID-19. It is vital that whichever Government is in place this May, the Good Food Nation Bill is brought back to the table to create a food system that is fair to people and the planet. We need your help to ensure the political parties commit to making this a reality.
Join our workshop to:
• Learn about the elections
• Find out how you can help call for change in our food system
• Receive training about how to engage with Scottish Parliamentary candidates
• Meet other people passionate about transforming Scotland’s food system!
We are running the same workshop twice. Thursday 25th February (5.30-7pm) and repeated again Saturday 27th February (10-11.30am). Please choose the date that suits you best. We can’t wait to see you there!
