In solidarity with activists occupying the UK Government building in Edinburgh we are moving this location of this rally!
NEW LOCATION: Queen Elizabeth House, Sibbald Walk, EH8 (near Waverley Station – search HMRC regional centre on maps)
A rally in support of the #StopCambo campaign 🔥 speakers TBC! Bring placards, banners and more to tell government they must #StopCambo!
This is an outdoor, socially distanced rally. Please wear masks, stay 2m from others & stay Covid safe! Please do not attend if you have any Covid symptoms, are in self isolation or have had a positive test.
The UK government are set to approve a massive new oil field in the North Sea mere months before COP26 is being hosted in Glasgow.
The first stage of the project will extract 170 million barrels of oil, the same as running 18 coal-fired power stations for a year.
Approving the Cambo field is incompatible with climate action. Moving foward with the Cambo field contradicts the International Energy Agency’s warnings that to limit warming to 1.5 degrees, there can be no new oil and gas.
