About this Event

All age ranges are welcome at this event and you can purchase the ticket which relates to you: High School Students, Higher and Further Education Student, or Adult.

‘The Future Speaks’ will provide an open forum for young people, the group most harmed by climate and ecological dangers, to constructively engage with elected representatives on this most important issue.

In this event leading up to COP26 and the Holyrood elections, local high school students will ask sitting South Scotland candidate MSPs questions relating to climate change obligations, education and action. The panel will include representatives from all major Scottish parties: Catriona Bhatia (Scottish Liberal Democrats Party), Claudia Beamish (Scottish Labour Party), Finlay Carson (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party), Mairi McAllan (SNP), Laura Moodie (Scottish Green Party)

The chairperson will be Finlay Asher from Green Sky Thinking.

This event is organised by Teach the Future in partnership with Sustainability Partnerships with support from Learning for Sustainability, The Royal Society of Edinburgh, The Scottish Mathematical Council, Geobus, The Institute of Physics and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
