The Seed Sistas bring the Hedgerow to life through otherworldly tales of resilience and hope.
Come find the space between the worlds – where fairy folk play tricks, and where hedgerow’s open up with gifts of medicine, food and magic. Each plant has a tale to tell, has its own history and holds stories of human interaction with wildlife throughout time.
Experience the magic of plants, then dance to rhythms powered by Buena Vida Dj’s Osh and Conna Haraway.
Osh is a Radio Buena Vida resident with his show Neighbouring Sounds, a monthly voyage through electronica, ambient, folk, psych, post-punk, downtempo, and probably always something from Brazil. He is currently researching arts activism in South America, looking at human rights film festivals in the southern cone, and also works locally with Glasgow Short Film Festival and Document Human Rights Film Festival.
As co-founder of the label INDEX:Records, Conna Haraway is an artist that approaches his DJ sets with a well-informed sense of eclecticism. For his appearance at The Landing Hub expect anything from esoteric-electronica, to leftfield-pop and disco-rarities.
The event is a fundraiser for Baltic Street Adventure Playground, a supervised adventure playground for children from 6 to 12 years. Younger children are welcome with a carer or guardian. It is free to enter, children are free to come and go, and free to play as they choose.
The site is in Dalmarnock, on Baltic Street. It is constantly changing, and there are usually a range of tyre swings, tree houses, balancing lines, tunnels and a large climbing frame. There is big collection of loose parts, including ropes, crash-mats, tunnels, nets and balls. There is also a water feature, a large sand pit, a fruit and vegetable garden, two campfires and an outdoor food preparation area, alongside many dens and hide-outs.
