Event Details

As COP 26 begins, Alastair McIntosh will suggest that technology, economics and conventional politics alone do not go deep enough to tackle climate change. To tackle consumerism and global injustice, the challenge that we face is also psychological, social and deepest of all, spiritual. Whether we are of any or no faith, this invites us all into connection with the roots of life itself.
Alastair McIntosh is a Quaker and honorary professor at the University of Glasgow. His most recent book, Riders on the Storm: The Climate Crisis and the Survival of Being (Birlinn 2020), is described by Professor Michael E. Mann as “a climate primer for our times … a life-giving vision for our collective future.”
