The Walking Forest Performance Action will start at Dusk ( 7.30am ) at Rottenrow Gardens and finish at Dusk ( 4.30)
What needs to be exchanged and heard under the canopy of a felled tree?
Walks with us : We welcome women and children to be part of the action and walk alongside for 10 mins or the whole day mourning the loss of forests and ecosystems around the world and planting seeds of courage for a just and fair future.
Meet: All are welcome to take part in different moments along the route when the tree stops to become a speakers corner, a shelter, a stage and a space where we can gather, reflect, listen and exchange stories.
The Tree you will witness being carried is a birch. It was felled in its prime to make way for the HS2 high speed rail link which is destroying thousands of trees and ancient woodlands. For details of Route and stop off points visit the Walking Forest Info station at Rottenrow Gardens anytime during the day or follow @walkingforest4 on Twitter or Instagram. Walking forest is a ten year artwork linking women, tree ecology and activism culminating in 2028 with the planting of an intentional woodland to honour women earth defenders and activists.
