(((WeCameToDance))) is, put simply, a blast!

“The Next Hottest Trend!” –Ruthie Fierberg, Playbill Magazine.

After sold out workshops with rave reviews in New York City, we hope you will join (((WeCameToDance))) by Food Tank, in partnership with House of Jack and the World Food Program USA, next at the 2021 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

During the performance you will interact with aliens from a real exoplanet (they call it “Hanyana”) that we have imagined in partnership with Dr. Steve B. Howell at NASA Ames Research Center. The performers will sing in their own language created by famed linguist David Peterson, who developed Valyrian and Dothraki for HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Alongside the cast, you will groove to music created by Grammy-nominated Ghanaian afrobeats artist Rocky Dawuni and participate in synchronized dance originally designed in New York by Mary Page Nance of Broadway’s “Finding Neverland” and “The Great Comet” and choreographed and directed for the local production in Scotland by award-winning Ashley Jack and Becky Enoch of House of Jack Studio in Leith, Edinburgh.

“(((WeCameToDance))) is an ethereal, truly otherworldly interactive experience that builds layered rhythms over spoken word poetry performed by an entirely Scotland based cast.” -BroadwayWorld

Our interactive and all-ages appropriate musical tells the story of extra-terrestrial life that arrives on Earth to warn its inhabitants of a climate crisis, after barely surviving catastrophe on their own planet. While guiding you in a fully immersed experience through rhythms, dance, and song, the characters relay a call to action and convey the tragedy of a changing climate — yet each and every motion, movement, and note is infused with hope and joy.

Join us at 25 Nicolson Square Edinburgh (Methodist Church, Fringe Venue 209)! Get your tickets now, before the entire run sells out!

IMPORTANT: This is not passive entertainment. For this experience to work we need you to engage wholeheartedly — we promise that when you do it will have a fiercely powerful impact.

Thank you to our presenting United Nations partners the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Program USA (WFP).

NOTE: If your preferred performance day and time is sold out here please try to book via the Fringe box office or ticketing portal. Promo codes will only apply here and not the Fringe ticketing website.

Organiser

Climate & Ecological Emergency

Has your organisation declared a Climate (and Ecological) Emergency, committing to radically reduce its emissions and improve biodiversity by 2030? Are you a concerned activist or organisation focussed on ensuring the necessary climate action is taken in your locality? This online conference will explore how councils, other public organisations, businesses, charities and communities can all work together to develop radical Action Plans to deliver on these commitments.
