Event Details

Over the past three decades, global trade rules have prioritized corporate rights over human rights, locked in the primacy of “free’ markets over more democratic and sustainable economic models, and contributed to a surge in inequality between rich and poor people and nations. When alternative approaches are suggested that could create a more sustainable world, all too often the reply is ‘we can’t do that because it is against trade rules’. Our response is simple: we need to change the trade rules. We must build an internationalist trade policy founded on justice, sustainability and solidarity.
