These workshops will give you the time and space to explore writing as a form of climate activism. Focusing on emotional responses to the climate emergency, we’ll think about how feelings of anger, joy, and uncertainty are at the heart of climate activism, and channel these feelings into writing. We’ll read texts by prominent environmental writers, write some of our own, and talk about what activism is and does.
Each workshop will have a different focus, and explore different ways of writing about climate change, so you can attend a one-off session or all three. All workshops will have activism – what it means and how it translates into writing – at their core. If you’re interested in, anxious about, or keen to discuss and respond to the climate crisis in creative ways, these workshops are for you!
