Youth Climate Summit

This year, a Youth Climate Summit will take place at Beyond Borders International Festival, on the 28th and 29th of August at Traquair House. The Summit will be a space for young climate activists to convene, express their passions about the climate crisis, discuss future collaborations and participate in a series of youth-led stalls and activities that will promote solutions to climate change. In particular, there will be a focus on sustainable fashion and plant-based diets. Some examples of the activities the Summit is planning to host are; a youth poetry walk, a second hand stall, a sustainable screen printing workshop for old t-shirts, a scrapbook to collect and share vegan/ vegetarian recipes, and more! In addition to these activities, the young people participating in the Summit will be given the opportunity to meet international climate leaders who will be speaking at the Festival and participate in the main tent talk on Saturday morning. The Youth Climate Summit will enhance the voices of Scotland’s young environmentalists and encourage them to build networks, exchange ideas and discuss areas for future collaboration and environmental projects especially in relation to COP 26, which is taking place in Glasgow later in the year.

Young people will have free access to this event by purchasing either a day or weekend ticket using the discount code – YCS2021 – for 100% off. There will also be a bus running from Edinburgh to the event and young people will be allowed to bring a parent or guardian as a plus one to the event.
