An urgent and timely dance-theatre work, BURNT OUT encapsulates one Australian’s experience of the devastating bushfires and the personal experience of the daughter of an environmental geochemist.
Weaving spoken word, movement and a lump of coal, BURNT OUT takes us on a journey and ask the question ‘why do we feel we are unable to acknowledge the changes around us even when surrounded by thick smoke?’
An intimate personal story and a universal meditation, BURNT OUT is a reflection on our changing climate.
This performance is BSL interpreted.
This show is followed by a 30 minute post-show discussion.
The post-show discussion will be led by a local environment activist/artist in discussion with Penny Chivas.
Burnt Out is funded by Creative Scotland’s Touring Fund.
Original music from Paul Michael Henry interwoven with lighting from Great Snakes.
