Come and learn how to get the best germination from your seeds and how to provide what seedlings need to grow big and strong, without spending a fortune.
Get your hands dirty making soil blocks, and experiment with priming and biostimulants to get your seeds connecting with the soil food web.
Share your experiences and draw on our collective knowledge to troubleshoot any seed starting issues.
About the event
Tending to… is an ongoing series of workshops, designed to build people’s skills and confidence in growing from seed, and offer cheap and accessible ways to care for seed crops in urban spaces. Organised by Glasgow Seed Library and hosted by community gardens around the city.
About the organisers
Glasgow Seed Library is a collection of seeds and a community of growers. The library stocks organic and open-pollinated vegetable, herb and flower seeds for everyone to borrow, grow and save. Throughout the year, Glasgow Seed Library organises free workshops, talks and events around seed skills, community growing and earth care.
Set up over a decade ago as a community garden space in the west of Glasgow, Woodlands Community now runs a variety of spaces, programmes and events that bring people together to empower community action and foster a sense of belonging.
Accessibility
Woodlands Community is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet. Please email [email protected] if you have any other access needs.
