The Green Team
The Green Team is a voluntary organisation providing outdoor experiences for young people, supporting them to learn about and connect with nature. We provide a range of programmes and events for young people to take part in environmental volunteering projects, making improvements to local greenspaces and learning about the natural environment. Young people can achieve a range of awards such as the John Muir Award and DofE Award. Weekend projects are led by highly experienced teams of staff and volunteer leaders.

Are you over 18 and looking for ways to improve your wellbeing and our greenspaces? Then this is the programme for you. We meet on one Saturday each month we will be making improvements to greenspaces in Edinburgh and at the same time giving our wellbeing a real boost. We will meet for each session at 10am and finish at 2pm.
Green Wellies 2023 programme meets at:
February 18th Craigmillar Castle Park. We will be cutting back and burning snowberry from Yew Tree Walk. We will be meeting here https://w3w.co/libraries.hero.visits beside the recycling centre off Old Dalkeith Road, Lothian buses 33, 48 and 49 with a walk up the road.
March 11th Wardie Paying fields. We will be planting some trees to increase biodiversity.
April 22nd Wynchmoss, Midlothian. We will be cutting down rhododendron from a SSSI woodland. Transport provided from central Edinburgh.
June 17th Penicuik Estate. We will be removing tree tubes and cutting and burning rhododendron. Transport provided from central Edinburgh.

- Bring warm and waterproof old clothes, lunch and a drink
- Suggested donation to take part £5-10

The Green Team
The Green Team is a voluntary organisation providing outdoor experiences for young people, supporting them to learn about and connect with nature. We provide a range of programmes and events for young people to take part in environmental volunteering projects, making improvements to local greenspaces and learning about the natural environment. Young people can achieve a range of awards such as the John Muir Award and DofE Award. Weekend projects are led by highly experienced teams of staff and volunteer leaders.0131 337 7227

Our Green Volunteers programme is for young people aged 12-18. Take part in positive action for the environment, spend time in wild places, learn fire lighting and wilderness survival skills and meet new people. For those aged 14 you can complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award Volunteering or Skills sections. Explore some amazing wild places and get connected!
Ticket sales close at 10am on the Thursday before each project date.
The sessions all run on a Sunday. Full details of the project will be sent the week prior.
- All sessions involve meeting on site at around 10.00am, pickup at 4.00pm, unless otherwise specified
- Cost of the day is £12, or £4 for low waged households. Please choose the option that is most appropriate for your financial situation. Free places are available; please email [email protected] for more information
- Participants should bring warm and waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and water.

Are you over 18 and looking for ways to improve your wellbeing and our greenspaces? Then this is the programme for you. We meet on one Saturday each month we will be making improvements to greenspaces in Edinburgh and at the same time giving our wellbeing a real boost. We will meet for each session at 10am and finish at 2pm.
Green Wellies 2023 programme meets at:
February 18th Craigmillar Castle Park. We will be cutting back and burning snowberry from Yew Tree Walk. We will be meeting here https://w3w.co/libraries.hero.visits beside the recycling centre off Old Dalkeith Road, Lothian buses 33, 48 and 49 with a walk up the road.
March 11th Wardie Paying fields. We will be planting some trees to increase biodiversity.
April 22nd Wynchmoss, Midlothian. We will be cutting down rhododendron from a SSSI woodland. Transport provided from central Edinburgh.
June 17th Penicuik Estate. We will be removing tree tubes and cutting and burning rhododendron. Transport provided from central Edinburgh.
Please note:
- Bring warm and waterproof old clothes, lunch and a drink
- Suggested donation to take part £5-10

Our Skylarks programme is for girls and non-binary people aged 12-18. It is the ideal programme to learn new skills, connect with nature in a fun and exciting way. You will also make some great new friends along the way as we explore some of Edinburgh and the Lothian’s amazing wild places. Skylarks days can count towards Duke of Edinburgh Skill or Volunteering Sections.
