Event Details

Join us for a fun day volunteering with the Borders Forest Trust. Ramblers Scotland staff and Out There Award participants have had such enjoyable days volunteering with the trust we thought Ramblers members might enjoy it too!

Corehead and The Devils Beeftub near Moffat are part of an ecological landscape restoration project being managed by the trust. The 620 hectare site encompasses a range of habitats including newly created native woodland, wetlands, an orchard and flower meadows, as well as extensive heathland and peat bogs.

Much of the work required to manage the site is undertaken by volunteers, with community engagement and active participation a keystone aim of the trust.

The day will include a site tour and likely include tree tube removal. No previous volunteer experience is required but you will need to bring waterproofs, wear sturdy footwear and bring your own lunch and refreshments.

We hope you’ll join us!
