On Thursday 5 May, local council elections will be taking place across the UK. The upcoming elections offer an unmissable opportunity to get local politicians to publicly declare their support for fossil fuel divestment.
On Monday 4 April, we will be launching our campaign to secure pledges from candidates in all nations and across all political persuasions – but we can’t do this without your help!
Event details
We are inviting interested groups and invidivuals to come together to share ideas and start making plans to get as many candidates as possible to commit to taking climate action and supporting the vital move towards a zero-carbon future.

- Key dates, resources and training for activists
- Becoming an “Elections Organiser” – what is the role and how can you apply? [Click here for more information]
- Workshop creative ideas for securing candidate pledges in your area
- Begin thinking about what comes next – how can we use pledges to hold newly elected candidates to account?
