Our speaker for the evening will be Professor Tavis Potts, Professor of Sustainable Development and Dean for Sustainability at the University of Aberdeen. As an environmental social scientist, Tavis’ research and activities revolve around the intersection of the human and natural world. He is interested in how society interprets, debates and enacts sustainability, how this shapes social and political action and how change occurs. His focal points have been in the topics of the social benefits of nature focusing on the marine and coastal environment and the concept of the ‘just transition’ to Net Zero.
