Event Details

Decolonising food symposium is part of climate Fringe Festival in collaboration with KPC Glasgow open door day.

The event will explore the nature of the food system, it connection to the climate crisis with special emphasis on the impact of people of global South origin.

Crucial to this event is the celebration of our food as a fundamental part of our identity and culture as Black and People of Colour. We will demonstrate ways in which our foods have withstand test of time from the Trans-Atlantic slave trade to ongoing Climate Crisis, the healing nature of our food as natural medicine and last but not least we will all partake in a delicious nutritious banquet of traditional African, Asian, Middle Eastern and Caribbean food to nurture and nourish the souls.

This partaking of the food is based on our well established Glasgow culture of EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND PAY ONLY WHAT YOU CAN
