Tuesday 8th, 15th & 22nd March
Choose between making either a hat or a bag
(if time allows, you can make both)
It’s crochet time! Would you like to learn to make your own up-cycled crochet objects from your own favourite textiles? Enjoy reusing some of your own favourite garments, wool, textiles and transform them into a ultra fashionable hat or bag
Sustainable fabrics is something we’re very passionate about and this workshop will teach you how to make your own yarn and stitch yourself a fabulous new accessory. Like all good crafting, your new accessory will be self expressive and durable enough to last a long time.
Every year, the UK disposes of 350,000 tonnes of clothing which is around 6% of our total annual carbon footprint. This crochet workshop will teach you how to make your own yarn by up-cycling old T-shirts and tights that were destined for landfill.
In this workshop you will make an accessory of your choice and learn tips and techniques from the patient and knowledgable Sarah McLeod. You’ll be hooked on crochet in no time. Come by for good chat and learn a new skill.
For the first session attendees are to bring one scrap garment and scrap wool to crochet with. There will be some materials provided too, hooks and scissors also provided.
Featured images for this workshop are all work by Sarah, you can see more by following her instagram @hyperbolic_textiles.
