More about the campaign…
The health of our oceans is in rapid decline – decades of destructive i dustrial fishing practices have decimated fish populations and deprived small-scale fishers of their livelihoods. This is not sustainable, and it is causing significant harm to both people and sea life.
Greenpeace UK has announced plans to build an underwater boulder barrier to protect our precious seabeds. These boulders will prevent bottom-trawler fishing boats from damaging the UK’s Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), which are supposed to be designated sites for the conversation of marine biodiversity. MPAs must be protected in reality, not just by name.
