Join us for this first in a series of ‘How to….’ training events we’ll be running in collaboration with some of our members who have gained valuable experience in developing climate action projects in specific areas and are ready to offer in-depth skillshare sessions. With this training, you’ll gain the confidence to start a similar climate action project where you live.

Rosie Harrison from Fixing for a Future will share her experience of setting up East Linton Tool Library, all the learnings and stories from the seed of the idea to the present moment, and how the project is always evolving to meet the specific needs of the community.

There will be lots of opportunities for questions and discussion!

The training will include:

Start up basics, including getting funds, finding a suitable location.

How to recruit volunteers.

Key people roles in a tool library.

Lending systems – how to track items.

Communications with tool library members.

Promoting the tool library in the local community.

Details of maintaining a tool library (yes tool maintenance is important!)

Tool library development – what to stock, what to do with donations.

Identifying local partners and collaborators.

Related initiatives such as Repair Café East Linton.

Connecting with the wider movement towards a circular economy.
