Graham Spiers is in conversation with Rupert Read, one of Britain’s most prominent climate crisis campaigners, about what we need to do to avert impending catastrophe, and what Scottish activism in particular needs to do to lend its weight to saving the planet.

Rupert has been at the centre of Britain’s civic campaign on climate change and the climate crisis. An author, academic and activist. Director of the Climate Majority Project. Led the Extinction Rebellion movement in 2019, becoming its official spokesperson across the media, calling the British government to account. Recent books include Do You Want To Know The Truth? in which he urges people to embrace the blunt facts about the climate catastrophe engulfing us. Read faces head-on the so-called “climate deniers” and remains a leading light of the net-zero movement.
