What is this session about?

In this short Future Conversations session delivered by Surefoot Effect, we start with the question: What are your hopes, and your fears, for the next 5-15 years? There will be time to reflect on and then share and discuss these, before moving onto other activities and an introduction to tools for building both individual and community resilience.

Who is the event for? What will I get from attending?

This session is for people who would like their communities to explore and plan for the future, identifying projects and actions to be taken to build a sustainable future. It is an introduction to the topic which you may want to explore further in future but you will also immediately learn some useful approaches to take back with you to your community group or organisation.

Previous groups who have explored this topic further, have gone on to do varied projects for their communities: growing and distributing vegetables and recipes to use them, along with cooking classes; turning front gardens into biodiversity friendly places; and setting up an inclusive community learning programme to enable everyone to work better together to move into a sustainable future.

Structure and timing of the session

This two hour online session has a short comfort break in the middle and will involve activities in small groups and in plenary. Please bring pen and paper and your curiosity.

Who is delivering the session?

The session facilitator, Pam Candea, from The Surefoot Effect CIC, has been working to promote a sustainable and resilient society actively since returning to that cherished ambition after a career in the commercial world in 2007. She works with community, public sector, and commercial organisations to help tackle the impacts of the nature and climate emergencies.

Please note spaces are limited so booking is required.
